Yes, the ole About Me page. Oh well… guess I have to do it!
Doug Ferrell, KD4MOJ, licensed since April 7 1992 (my birthdate, not year). Favorite things in amateur radio are:
- JT65 on HF. Great program called JT65-HF
- APRS – I run several APRS Digi’s and an Igate
- D-Star – I’m the SysOp for the NF4DG D-Star full stack in Tallahassee
My other hobby is/are honey bees. Check out www.tanglewoodapiary.com when you get a chance. Currently I have 4 double deep colonies and they produce quite a bit of honey!ing I have I’m in the process of configuring webcam for streaming.
Professionally I’m a systems analyst for the City of Tallahassee in charge of Police and Fire records management. Although I use to work solely on Fire Records Management, I was “assimilated” into the Information Systems Services Department (Public Safety Group) in a reorg. Now I am wroking mainly on the P1 Records project. I also spend time maintaining the SQL servers and fixing problems, configuring and running Reports (using Crystal Reports). Currently we are configuring Motorola’s Premier One RMS suite. The fire department uses Zoll’s RescueNet FireRMS (formally SunPro for you old timers). I originally installed this in April of 2004. Currently TFD has an RFQ out for a new RMS package. I’ll certainly miss it!
