Beta Built #14 of YAAC

From Andrew:

==============================================================
Greetings, all.

My, the feature requests are coming fast, but here’s the new build of YAAC with the latest changes. It can be downloaded from the usual websites:

http://www.ka2ddo.org/ka2ddo/YAAC.html
http://sourceforge.net/projects/yetanotheraprsc

The new features and fixes include:

1. support for full UTF-8 messaging, including the ability to select display fonts to use a font that can display other language’s characters.

2. only view “dead” objects when clicking on the map if the user has explicitly selected viewing killed objects.

3. add new pages to the mini-webserver to display the current station/object list, current messages, and current bulletin board.

Enjoy, everybody, and keep those feature requests coming!

P.S. I do plan on getting that video out that I promised on YAAC. Been laid up with a fracture of the greater tuberosity of the left humerus. Sounds fun…. getting better though.

From the APRSSIG TAPR mailing list:

The next beta build of YAAC (Yet Another APRS Client) is available, with the following new features:

1. correct and user-seletable units for displaying weather station barometric pressure.
2. bookmarking selecting pan/zoom settings of the map for quick re-use later.
3. Winlink e-mail message composer to sending e-mails via the APRSlink gateway.
4. assorted minor GUI and online help clean-ups.
5. improved performance of topographic map backgrounds.

YAAC can be downloaded in both binary and source-code forms from http://www.ka2ddo.org/ka2ddo/YAAC.html or http://sourceforge.net/projects/yetanotheraprsc

Enjoy!

On another note, I do plan on the instruction video of this fine new client. The map install is quite different that any other APRS client out there. I the started a video on the previous version but had a hard drive crash. Of course I hadn’t updated my image in two months so that was lost. Stay Tuned!
